The journey becomes real now, we are all cruising
on our Hired Harleys along the Californian
coastline through gorgeous towns like SANTA
BARBARA with its harbour and spacious
beachfront, CARMEL with its expensive homes and
galleries are curious as are the exotic
vehicles the locals drive.

SAN FRANCISCO and its cable cars, bars, shops and restaurants,narrow streets.... hold on a skateboarder just flew past, downhill at great speed, nevermind, my mind wanders.

BIG SUR was just as imagined, though the massive REDWOODS are truely huge and have to be appreciated in person.

"THE LOST COAST " is our ride, it stretches roughly 80 miles along a rugged, sparsely travelled coast just south of OREGAN and WASHINGTON states and boasts a dozen peaks rising more than 2000ft the tallest being Kings Peak at 4087ft.

Now with bikes on the ferry we cruise the sounds across to VANCOUVER ISLAND and CANADA.

The NIMKISH INDIANS astound us with their humbling TOTEM POLES and culture but VANCOUVER brings us back to reality as does LILLOOET. It's amazing, a small mountain village with good German food where it's not uncommon to hear several languages spoken.

WOW, Big mountains, glacial lakes, BANFF and CALGARY sadly conclude our CANADIAN adventure but we leave with huge smiles.

The SAWTOOTH WILDERNESS AREA fantastic!  A jagged skyline of deep gorges, lake filled glacial basins, it's just outstandingly beautiful ... and there's more, CRATER LAKE introduces us to the northern SIERRA's with a break in RENO, The Biggest Little City in the World.  Casinos, shows, lots of laughs, then we cruise  TAHOE on the lake. YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK blows our socks off!  This is possibly The Most Outstanding National Park in the USA.

So many memories, did we just ride all those places, hope we photographed it all! The mind is a blurr but now a bike free stopover in L.A. settles us down before we fly home.
